Border Watch - March 2010

Border Watch - March 2010

It’s official!

And I am so excited. (Can you tell??)

I think the designer has captured the feel of the waters around Northern Queensland perfectly. Morgan is suitably reserved, but feisty and the colours are gorgeous.

I couldn’t be happier.  I’d love to hear what you think about it!

Thanks, ladies!

Fleur, looking forward to hosting you in December on my blog! Your cover for “Red Dust” is so wonderfully evocative of your landscape I wonder if it’s possible we have the same cover designer?

And I love your pun, Christine – the aviation thing lends itself to all sorts of jokes…

Cath, I hope it leaps off the shelf into your hand and you enjoy reading it! I’ll be blogging on the RWA site round release time so there’ll be a copy up for grabs for sure.

Cheers
Helene

Hi Helene,
Oh dear, can’t half tell I’m a pilot’s wife. I have to admit that my first thought was, they’ve got her in the correct seat. Then came, they captured the water colour beautifully, not to mention they sky. The attitude of the aircraft is compelling as well. And yes, I agree, your model has struck just the right amount of beauty, competence and detmination to do the job right. A very striking cover Helene, I can see why you’re so pleased with it. Well done!! My only objection is that I think your name should be larger the the book’s. Please note that the picture is now part of my screensaver and background. I’m sure you’ll let us know the exact date it will be on the shelves so we can go and camp out at the book store the night before. Pitty I can’t buy it for Brett for Christmas! I’m so thrilled for you. YEAH!!!

Thanks Sandy, I do love biased friends! I gulped when I saw just how big my name was… And, hey, what a fabulous idea to use it as a screen saver! Will be working that out as soon as I finish typing this.

Hope your on-line course with QWC was fun yesterday.

Thanks Helene,
I met a lady on line who lives down at Redland Bay, about thirty minutes from us, so we’ve arranged to begin a writer’s support group (even if it’s just us two). So that at least is a good start. So far I’m the only one who’s done any online work, maybe the others are shy – or the poor buggers have to work. It never fails to amaze me just how lucky I am. Brett should be home soon and I’ll show him your book cover. I bet his first reaction is ‘She’s not wearing Dick Clark headsets’. Deary me.
OO
Sandy
