Eden found

Standing in a queue to board a flight in Sydney recently, I was telling a colleague I needed to find a beautiful, serene spot near Cairns for my husband’s birthday. She suggested Eden House in Yungaburra. A gentleman in line behind us added his opinion and I was sold. Have just come back from the visit and they were both right!

Eden House has been restored, renovated and loved, and it shows!

It’s all too easy to forget just how good simple fresh food tastes. With excellent company and time to relax, unwinding from all the stress of busy lives took about two hours – and that was without visiting the fabulous spa… (next visit!)

We found time to wander down some of the walking trails near Yungaburra and below are a couple of photos of the Curtain Fig.

A simple life seems a long way removed from Sydney and the hustle of the city. This weekend was a gentle reminder that work is something we do to pay the bills – we work to live, not live to work! Sorry for being so corny…
