The snow didn’t fall but everything else was exactly as I imagined for a winter Christmas. For once the travel gods smiled on us and we had a seamless journey from Cairns to Manchester – the highlight being the wonderful Qantas crew between Bangkok and London and the skybeds 🙂 We arrived a day early Continue reading

Mothers and daughters
That intangible thread of connection between mothers and daughters and sisters is never more apparent, nor precious, than at Christmas time. I made a flying visit to Mum on my way home from Sydney (and yes that was a deliberate attempt at humour :-)) to deliver presents and to give her a hug. The flight Continue reading

Please welcome debut Carina Press author Rachael Johns who’s novel ONE PERFECT NIGHT is about to hit the shelves! So Rachael, to blog or not to blog… Continue reading
Girl Power
Girl power always makes me smile. At our friends’ wedding on Saturday we had a ‘pilot’ photo. The girls outnumbered the guys five to three, although we manage to leave one of the women out of the photo… (sorry Fizz..), and the guys tried to claim Baby William was a pilot in the making.

Help! I’ve lost the pause button…
Help. I’m in desperate need of a pause button – or a rewind would be even better. Where has 2011 gone? Somewhere in the last twelve months I’ve been checked to line on a new aircraft, have published my second book, have written my third novel, completed countless simulator sessions, had family visitors all the Continue reading
Storm Front
Shortly after I took this photo the heavens opened and our Weipa ground staff ended up very wet as they worked to dispatch us…
